Joseph A. Lambariello Tax Attorney Warren NJJoseph A. Lambariello, Esq./LLM
Tax partner, Joseph A. Lambariello, Esq., is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York. Mr. Lambariello holds undergraduate Bachelors of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from Lehigh University, class of 1983. He is also a 1986 Juris Doctor graduate of Seton Hall Law School. He then earned his Masters of Taxation in Law (LL.M.) from New York University Law School in 1989. Mr. Lambariello has been practicing law since 1986, starting in the tax department of the then “Big Eight” accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, from 1986 to 1987. From 1987 through 1990, Mr. Lambariello worked for the tax law firm of Carles & Carles in New Jersey. His current practice was established in January 1990, when he decided to hang out a shingle while awaiting the birth of his first of three children. His instinct has served him well and he’s built a reputable and competent practice that serves multiple generations of families and business acquaintances who have confidently provided referrals for more than two decades. In 2011, he partnered with Stacey L. Pilato, Esq., his former associate attorney. Joseph Lambariello specializes in tax-related matters such as complex estate planning, elder law, asset protection, administration of estates and trusts, business mergers & acquisitions, business tax planning, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), New Jersey & New York tax divisions, and Federal tax courts. Mr. Lambariello represents small “mom and pop” family businesses to multi-million dollar, multi-generational family businesses, guiding them through tax planning, business succession planning, mergers, and the acquisition and sale of assets. He is a frequent lecturer to professionals in the accounting and financial fields on the topics of tax law updates, taxable transfers and asset protection, as well as to family and senior groups on the topics of estate planning, asset protection and Medicare/Medicaid. An avid fisherman for relaxation with an uncanny ability to digest the Internal Revenue Code and “crunch numbers,” Mr. Lambariello’s talent lies in resolving complex tax and planning issues with true intellectual artistry, and without the stuffiness normally associated with the title “tax attorney.”

Joseph A. Lambariello is a member of the Bars of New Jersey, New York, and United States Tax Court.  He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association, Real Property, Estate and Probate Section.

Stacey Pilato Estate Planning Attorney Warren NJStacey L. Pilato, Esq.
Partner Stacey L. Pilato, Esq., began working with Joseph Lambariello in 2005 as an associate. Balancing the practice of law with motherhood, her accountant who shared office space with Mr. Lambariello had made the introduction. Politically active in her community with her husband, she took a brief stint in 2007 to practice municipal law and then worked with a small estate planning firm, but found she was constantly on the phone consulting on complex matters with Joe and devoted to the practice of estate planning and elder law. She returned in 2008 as Of Counsel to work with Joe, and became partner in the 2011 reorganization. Stacey studied political science, receiving her Bachelor of Arts at High Point University in 1990. She studied the justice system and court administration at The American University, earning a Master of Science in Justice in 1995. In 1998, she attained her Juris Doctor in law from Seton Hall University. Practicing for approximately 15 years, she was admitted to the Bar of New Jersey in 1999 and has a broad background of practice areas including family law, landlord/tenant, real estate and commercial transactions, election law, contracts, torts, municipal government and public defense. But her passion for reaching a personal level with her clients and problem-solving drew her to the concentration of estate and elder law, in which she has solely practiced since 2008. Her broad legal background allows her to provide clients with insight on issues that may cross over into estate planning or estate administration from other areas of law, such as real estate, adoption, divorce/dissolution, municipal violations or guardianship issues. In addition to planning and administration, Stacey is a strong advocate for her clients in estate and guardianship disputes between fiduciaries and interested parties where, depending upon the circumstances, litigation may or may not ensue. She is a frequent lecturer to caregivers and membership organizations on the significance of “no writing, no rights,” and the importance of everyone age 18 and over to have a complete and appropriate estate plan tailored to fit the individual.

Stacey L. Pilato was a lecturer with the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on the “Dos and Don’ts of Estate Planning,” sharing her method and ethics of practicing estate planning to educate and benefit the specific needs of each client. She served as Co-Chair of the Somerset County Bar Association Elder/Trusts/Estates Practice Committee in 2013/2014, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Somerset County Bar Association newsletter, “The Clarion.” Stacey is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is also an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for Veterans benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Stacey was sworn in as an Attorney and Counsellor of the Supreme Court of the United States on April 30, 2012, in Washington, D.C., allowing her to practice before the United States Supreme Court.  Pictured here are Stacey (2nd from right), her colleagues of the Somerset County Bar Association who were also sworn in, United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., hailing from New Jersey, and United States Congressman Leonard Lance, 7th Dist., NJ.
